Taking care of children is not something to be taken lightly. In order for us to have peace of mind knowing that we are leaving our children in capable hands when we go to work, the person that takes care of our children and spends long hours with them should undergo strict screening. Screening and placing nannies / au pairs is an important process that should be carried out in a professional and systematic manner and not be based on intuition alone.
Intuition should not be disregarded when it comes to hiring a nanny / au pair, but it is not enough. In addition, every home has its special needs, every family is different and what works for one family doesn’t necessarily work for another.
